On Sunday the historic launch of trade activity through China Pakistan Economic Corridor, Begins.
ISLAMABAD: The civil and military leadership of China and Pakistan will open international port at Gwadar on Sunday. Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif will see off Chinese containers leaving for Africa.
Sea ports play significant role in the economic growth of a
country The Gwadar Port of Pakistan has
a prime geographical location. It is situated at the mouth of the Persian Gulf,
Strait of Hormuz, the cross junction of international sea shipping and oil
trade routes.
The Gwadar Port connects three main regions – Central Asia, South
Asia and the Middle East. The route from Gwadar to Central Asia is the most
economical sea route. These economic opportunities will lead towards a
developed Balochistan as well as a developed Pakistan with better
infrastructure and jobs for the people of the country.
China has already started trade through the Gwadar Port as
the first ship of China reached the Gwadar Port.
The trade caravan reached Gwadar from China under the strict
security cover of Pakistan Army and other security agencies that would now be
shipped to its next export destinations.
“This is the onset of the progress that has been awaited for
years. But now this journey will continue till the times to come,” the Prime
Minister House said in a statement on Saturday.
It said Gwadar was a Nature’s gift to Pakistan and Chinese
friendship and cooperation had made it more valuable. “We are crossing new
milestone into a new era of international relations,” it added.
Gwadar Port is rich of new possibilities not only for
Pakistan and China but also for the whole world with a scope of import and
export activity from Central Asia to the Middle East.
The shipment of first trade cargo from Gwadar to the
international market heralds a changed Pakistan.
Starting its journey from Kashghar, the trade cargo reached
Gwadar safely from Gilgit Baltistan after travelling throughout the country
that also manifested the image of a peaceful Pakistan.
