As Pakistan Army troops, tanks, aircraft and ships carried on a military drill at Khairpur Tamewali, a place near the border with India, the Indian media was quite aware of the situation that had been taking place.
Leading newspapers of Pakistan's arch-rival covered the news in detail regarding the readiness of Pakistan Army which was exhibited though the military exercises, in case of aggression from India.

The comprehensive joint exercise conducted by Pakistan Army and Pakistan Air Force showcased the combat readiness of the country’s defence line with live firepower demonstration using heavy artillery fighter jets and air defence weapons.

PM Nawaz along with Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, General Rashad Mahmoud and three services chiefs witnessed the movement of artillery corp’s Khalid tanks successfully engaging targets in the firing range some 70 kilometers from Bahawalpur.

The drill, in the Khairpur Tamiwali desert area near the district or Bahawalpur, came three days after Indian fire in Kashmir killed seven Pakistani soldiers in a new escalation between the two nuclear-armed rivals.

The two sides have traded fire repeatedly in recent weeks across the Line of Control, which divides the Himalayan region into India- and Pakistani-controlled zones. Both Pakistan and India claim Kashmir in its entirety.

Pakistan’s army chief has less than two weeks before retirement after his three-year term. The government has not yet named his successor.

In a speech at the drill, Pakistan’s prime minister paid a glowing tribute to the armed forces and reiterated his government’s commitment to fighting terrorism.

Nawaz Sharif also issued a veiled warning to India, saying that Pakistan would deliver a “befitting response” to any hostile enemy action.

The latest escalation was set off by a deadly September attack on an Indian military base in the Indian-controlled part of Kashmir. India has blamed Pakistan-based militants for that attack and others, a charge Pakistan denies.

The PAF’s fighter aircraft including JF-17 Thunder F-7PG and Mirage hit the targets with agility and precision avoiding the radars.

The maneuvering Mirage aircraft flew close to ground striking weapons at the designated targets.

The military drills and exercises come one day after India yet again violated the ceasefire agreement across the LoC and martyred seven Pakistan Army officers. Pakistan Army responded befittingly to Indian aggression and effectively targeted Indian check-posts.
