While Thanksgiving has changed a great deal since the first Thanksgiving back in 1621, from deep-fried turkeys to the growing popularity of “friends-giving,” Macy’s annual procession through Manhattan has retained some of its famous floats and balloons for decades– much to the delight of youngsters and nostalgic's alike.

Thanksgiving 2016 is here and it’s a time to sit down with family, eat way too much food, and share some great quotes on social media about gratitude and togetherness.

As the quintessential American holiday, Thanksgiving has been a popular topic for writers dating back hundreds of years. Many have shared their wisdom on the day of gratitude, and many comedians have mused about the humor that comes when family members have a few too many drinks and hang around each other a bit too long.

Where to Watch
Once the parade reaches Central Park South and 6th Avenue, great views may be enjoyed from the 59th to the 38th Streets.

Do be mindful, however, that the national television broadcast will be limiting views on 6th Avenue between the 34th and 38th Streets and on the 34th Street between the 6th and 7th Avenues.
Additionally, take note that grandstand tickets are not for sale to the general public.

If you won't be on the ground, don't fret! You can still enjoy Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade 2016 in the comforts of your own home and it doesn't have to be on your television. For the first time in 64 years, the parade will not only be broadcast live on some YouTube but it will also be a 360-degree live stream. To do this, Verizon is setting up 360-degree cameras at strategic points in the parade's route. The 360-degree live stream will begin as soon as the parade kicks off Nov. 24, 9:00 a.m. ET.
